From originally employing two people the business has expanded and now has nine people on the payroll or on contract. Our key personal are:

Kevin Small - Licensed Cadastral Surveyor and Resource Management Planner, works in all locations

Kevin is the managing director of Absolute Land Solutions Limited. He holds the qualifications of Bachelor of Surveying and Master Of Regional and Resource Planning with credit, both from the University of Otago.

Kevin's role is to make sure all projects are run smoothly, clients are kept up to date and all staff are happy in their jobs.

Kevin does the majority of our resource management work, helps out with the fieldwork and approves the survey plans.

Prior to starting the company, Kevin worked in Wanaka, Queenstown, Auckland, Dunedin and Invercargill, gaining experience with many different district plans and in a variety of types of survey work. Kevin also spent a two year period experiencing surveying in the United Kingdom and Middle East.

During his career Kevin has done work on a variety of subdivision varying from two lots up to 400 lots. He has also been involved on route surveys, monitoring surveys, topographical surveys, hydrographic surveys, childcare centre resource consents, animal tanning consents and hazardous waste developments such as petrol stations.

Kevin is also the webmaster for the website See How The Land Lies, a free information website about surveying and planning in New Zealand.

Annabel Small - Office Administration located in Southland

Annabel's role is to tend to administrative matters and she is one of the directors of the company. She holds the qualification of Bachelor of Arts degree.

Annabel also assists with fieldwork when necessary and is particularly fond of level surveys.

Charlie Wilson - Senior Surveyor located in Dunedin

Charlie has over 40 years surveying experience working for a variety of companies such as the Department of Lands and Survey, Terra Link and private surveying firms.

Charlie's wealth of knowledge and experience is a valuable asset to our team.

During his career Charlie has worked on subdivisions of all shapes and sizes, topographical surveys, road legalisations, forestry surveys, mapping, survey maintenance provider for LINZ and training staff.

Charlie's other area of expertise is in breeding bantams, and he is the current secretary of the Dunedin Poultry and Cage Bird Club.

George Garthwaite - Surveyor located in Southland

George is a recent graduate of the Bachelor of Surveying degree from the University of Otago. George has carried out various topographical surveys and subdivisions as well as asbuilt surveys.

George is a keen rugby player and has been active with the New Zealand army going to the Solomon Islands.
